Mom's Review
Our kids love Thomas the Tank Engine. They had me read this book over and over to
them when we checked it out from the library. I meant to buy it for them for Christmas.
They loved to point out details from the pictures, and they would recite lines from the
story because of the easy-to-memorize rhymes. I like the message in the story, though
it may be a little hard for children to recognize. The story tells us that we are not
totally responsible for our success or failure. Thomas says at the end, “I learned a great
lesson from one little crack. A train is only as good as its track.” If my kids were older,
I would discuss that with them. But as it is, we like the story and recommend it to you!

Dad's Review
This is a good book. I don't know what it is about trains that act and talk like humans,
but the kids love them. In A Crack in the Track, Thomas starts to get a little prideful
about his capabilities. By the end of the book he is humbled and realizes that is only as good
as his track. It's a good book with a good lesson on humility for your collection.
