Mom's Review
Our children like to read their favorite books over and over.
I Stink! is the only one we have that keeps my voice from ever falling
into a boring drone. I just can’t get bored with the sassiness of the
garbage truck on his midnight route or the grossness of some of the
garbage detail. There’s nothing fake about this—this garbage truck really
comes to life. The kids notice not only the fun phrases (like “Burp!”),
but also the facial expressions on each page.
I’m sorry, the pictures are ugly and dark (They suit the subject.),
but the kids keep pulling this book off the shelf.
They love repeating the one-liners with me.
Even our one-year-old can repeat parts of the book as we read.
We first checked out this book, then grandma bought it for Christmas,
and we read it at least a few times a week—after all this time.
There is a continual fascination in garbage in our household and in the
households of most small children. Every Monday morning, we run out to
watch our garbage trucks at work. I have yet to do this, but I would
like to use I Stink! to help discuss environmental concerns with the kids.
For me, the story is bitter sweet. Hurrah for the garbage truck and its
usefulness, but the Mount-Trash-O-Rama it talks about exists, and kids
need to know that too.Click here to buy I Stink!
Dad's Review
Take a ride with a New York City garbage truck and see the world from his perspective.
I Stink! is a lot of fun and has become one of our favorite books.
However, this children's book is not for the faint of heart, especially when it comes to spelling out the alphabet.
We all highly recommend it. Even our one year old can repeat some of the parts in the book.
We love it! Click here to buy I Stink!
